Lockhart Verandahs

Built during the Federation years, Lockhart exhibits a well preserved example of typical turn of the century architecture. Classified by the National Trust, the wide shady verandahs and historic shop fronts which line the main street were fully restored in the early 1990s.

Underneath the verandahs, the footpath depicts the the life and times of Lockhart and district in more than 400 etched pavers, while on the shopfronts heritage panels tell the story of days gone by.

Stop for a relaxing coffee or a bite to eat at the cafĂ©, pub or club, all which offer high quality products. The supermarket, building supplies and newsagency are well stocked and there are some unique shops that are great for browsing. Pick up cute and quirky treasures at Intuition, Ginge n Fluffs and the popular Red Cross shop.

ATMs are available for use at Lockhart Community Bank (Bendigo Bank), Lockhart Ex-Servicemen's Club and Lockhart IGA. Lockhart Post Office is an agent for the 'Big 4' banks.
