Lockhart Picnic Races is one of the best picnic race meetings in NSW. The meeting is a six race programme. Kicking off at 1.30pm, come along and enjoy a picnic lunch track side before the racing commences. Gates open at 12 noon.

The Picnic Races attracts locals and visitors from near and far. Fashions on the Field is always hotly contested and the Umbrella and Marquee Packages are perfect for those who want to enjoy the race day without the hassle of packing their own picnic. Bookings are essential.

Lockhart Picnic Races are a BYO race day.  Trackside bar is also available on the day.
Catering is available in the form of barbecue stalls, coffee stands, ice-cream stalls, and more, but many members and guests choose to bring their own picnic baskets.

Bookmakers operate at the meeting. The meeting is not covered by the TAB and there are no ATM facilities on site.

Lockhart Picnic Races as we know it today was first run in 1993 at the Lockhart Showground.  However, racing in Lockhart started far earlier than this. The first race meet held in Lockhart was on Boxing Day in 1898.  Race meets continued in Lockhart until 1946 with breaks during World War 1 and World War 2.  The Lockhart Picnic Race Club was formed in 1993 and since then Lockhart has seen crowds of over 5000 patrons at the Picnic Races.

Have your Christmas Party at Lockhart Picnic Races!  More information and options are available on the Race Day page.
